Consistently, the New Testament warns of coming deceivers and apostasy in the “last days.”
Many churches are now focused on the expected end-times “revival” that, supposedly, is poised to begin, one that will be accompanied by unprecedented “signs and wonders” that will win billions of souls and pave the way for Christ’s return. And these same miraculous “signs” have become the rallying cry, the raison d’être for many church leaders.

Already, the “mystery of lawlessness” and the “spirit of Antichrist” are preparing the way for the arrival of the “lawless one.”
Jesus warned of coming “tribulations” that will cause many to “stumble” and apostatize. Moreover, “many false prophets” will arise to “deceive many,” and because “lawlessness will multiple,” the “love of the many will grow cold.” And these “false prophets and false christs” will employ “signs and wonders” to mislead “the elect,” for apostasy is their end game.

Just as occurred in Thessalonica, deceivers continue to propagate false information about the imminence of key apocalyptic events.
In the church at Thessalonica, claims that the “Day of the Lord had set in” were disrupting the congregation, and apparently, someone attributed them to Paul (“as if from us”). In response, he warned believers not to be “troubled” by such false expectations, for the “Day of the Lord” will not come before the arrival of the “lawless one” and the “apostasy.”

Since I was sixteen, I have heard many warnings about the coming “Antichrist,” presumably, a global political and military leader or so many have claimed. And certainly, history provides us with many examples of national leaders attempting to assert dominion over other nations, men who fit the popular expectation, though so far, all of them have failed in that endeavor.

“In the last days, mockers will come with mockery, saying, ‘Where is the promise of his coming?’.”
Over the last year, we have witnessed significant failures by the “leaders” of the “Prophetic Movement,” and the last one was so spectacular that many “prophets and apostles” found it necessary to issue public “apologies.” Unfortunately, this has not stopped them from continuing to “prophesy” in the name of the Lord.
